Things to know and have when you go to Egypt!

You may have a lot of questions about Egypt which most agency won't prepare you for your departure. Please have your passport up to date. Please check to see was requirements from www.cdc.gov to what immunizations are currently needed. I always tell everyone to purchase travel insurance just in case things happens such as your flight may get delayed or cancelled, lost luggage, accident or illness and so on. Make sure you pack your regular prescribed medications, non-prescription medicine, first aid kit, mosquito repellant and sunscreen along with you luggage. Don't forget your cameras and batteries and an extra disk drive!
In the winter in Egypt can be quite chilling so bring your jacket and sweaters. During the spring and fall the weather is very nice. The summer can be very hot and exhausting so bring loose clothing. Always bring comfortable shoes for the walk and hiking.
The people of Egypt are kind and willing to help you. A lot of the Egyptian can speak English and other European languages. I suggest you learn a little bit of Arabic for simple gestures. They like to hear you at least make an attempt.
Egypt is a very modern country. Cairo has a population as of 2007 about 28 million people. They do have modern facilities. There are plenty of Police of Tourism on every block so you can feel safe. They are not there to harass you. Egypt depends on tourism for their economy and your safety is on there top priorities.
